Our Services

Telehealth (Teletherapy)

Many find telehealth, or online video counseling convenient, accessible, and a safe way to participate in individual therapy sessions in the privacy of your own home.  Sessions are easy to access from your PC, laptop, or smartphone and require no downloads or special apps.  Secure booking links are sent through our HIPAA compliant website and require little to no tech skills.

In-Person Outpatient Therapy

Currently due to COVID-19 pandemic, all therapy is conducted via telehealth.  In-person therapy will be returning to our Fairlawn/West Akron location soon.

Many people like the flexibility of choosing a combination of Telehealth or In-person therapy based on their needs.

Dr. Massimo specializes in reproductive and maternal mental health (including postpartum depression, perinatal mood disorders, and pregnancy loss), grief therapy, and counseling for individuals with developmental disabilities.  In addition, at the Austin Counseling Center for Women & Families (ACCWF) we work with teens 14+ and adults on a wide range of concerns that include (but not limited to), anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, grief, loss, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, relationship difficulties, disability, interpersonal violence women’s issues, geriatric/aging concerns, life and role transitions, and LBGTQIA+ empowerment.

Individual therapy is the primary type of treatment at the ACCWF.  Couples and Family Therapy is also available upon request to assist in building stronger relationships, improve communication, and help manage conflicts within the family system.

Dealing with changing families, fertility difficulties, pregnancy loss, and other pregnancy-related stressors can be very isolating.   Sometimes it is helpful to connect and talk with others who are going through similar situations.  Support Groups are not therapy groups, but rather, opportunities to talk with others who may be experiencing similar concerns.  Social support has been demonstrated to be key in helping through perinatal mood disorders.

Please contact us to inquire about our online and in-person support groups for Pregnancy Loss and Perinatal (Pregnancy and Postpartum) Mood Support Groups.

Clinical supervision at the Austin Counseling Center is provided by Dr. Massimo (LPCC-S) for counselors in Ohio who are working toward independent licensure or who are seeking the Training Supervisor Endorsement.

Please contact (booking link?)  to inquire about the clinical supervision services offered, philosophies and approach to supervision, and further discuss your supervision needs.

Supervision in Interpersonal Therapy (IPT-B certified) is also available.
